Business Development Associate role overview:
As a Business Development Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth and market expansion efforts. You will be responsible for market research, support in product definition & strategic planning, and a part of the team executing go-to-market strategies. Additionally, you will be involved in the process of building and nurturing relationships with potential customers, partners, and stakeholders to secure new deals, collaborations, and licensing agreements. A key aspect of your role will involve close collaboration with our Research & Development team to ensure that our technology aligns seamlessly with market demands and product concepts.
Reports to Director of Business Development
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Understanding and Strategy –
· Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities, trends, and potential customer segments.
· Support the definition of product offerings based on market insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams for product development.
· Assess alternatives and be part of the development of effective go-to-market strategies to drive product adoption and market penetration.
2. New business generation –
· Support in the process of managing the relationships with potential customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
· Be part of the team and support business processes (e.g. negotiations, collaborations & licensing agreements).
3. Work closely with R&D teams -
· Act as a liaison between the Business Development and Research & Development teams.
· Communicate market needs and feedback to the R&D team to ensure the technology is aligned with customer requirements.
· Understand R&D capabilities and potential to intersect with market needs and initiate new business value.
· Provide inputs on product development and enhancements based on market demands.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in business, economics, legal and / or engineering. MBA is a plus.
· >2 years of experience in industry work, preferably business related (e.g. BD, Analyst, Sales). Animal agriculture / cattle industry – an advantage
· Understanding of microbiome technology and its applications in ag tech – an advantage.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
· Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Fluent presentation and writing skills in English - a must.
