Job Description

As a Site Reliability Solutions Architect you will play a critical role in designing scalable and reliable systems that meet the operational requirements of our organization.

• Leverage your knowledge of the systems to assist resolving production issues in real time
• Participate in Preemptive (design reviews) and Corrective (post mortems) discussions to represent the reliability standpoint
• Lead and guide Service Reliability reviews and audits
• Find patterns and major pain points that hinder Wix’s Availability, and produce large scale solutions
• Generate and prioritize tasks for infrastructure teams to aid in improving uptime and reducing blast radius
• Analyze system performance and scalability requirements, identify bottlenecks, and propose and implement solutions to optimize system capacity
  
  

Qualifications:

• A Senior R&D employee with 5+ years of experience managing large engineering projects
• 3+ years experience in coding- an advantage
• 3+ years experience running production systems over the cloud- an advantage
• You’re experienced with Monitoring, Logging and Tracing mechanisms
• You have excellent understanding of how web-applications work - From browsers, through caches, all the way to the database, and back
• You have strong knowledge of site reliability engineering principles, including scalability, availability, performance, and fault tolerance
• You're highly motivated about automating processes of failure remediation
• You have superb multitasking capabilities and are great at risk analysis as well as prioritization
• You enjoy critical thinking & problem solving, and are seasoned in conflict resolution

As part of the Software Reliability group at Wix, we work hard to make sure the lights are always on. Wix's production environment runs on clusters in multiple data centers and cloud vendors, managing an ecosystem of more than 4000 microservices, clocking in about 50,000 requests per second. This introduces unique distributed system challenges of synchronization, performance, testing, redundancy, fallbacks, failovers, monitoring, and more.

We work closely with all the different R&D disciplines to maintain our high SLA and ensure reliability best practices in design, implementation, and delivery. In addition to user-facing systems, we are responsible for internal tools such as gradual-rollouts and configuration optimizations.
