DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Basic Job Purpose:

Works with developers and IT staff to oversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. From creating and implementing systems software to analyzing data to improve existing ones, a DevOps Engineer increases productivity in the workplace. Understand the software development lifecycle and have a clear understanding of various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/ CD pipelines).

Main Duties:

· Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure

· Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers

· Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

· Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats

· Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’

· Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

· Deploy updates and fixes

· Provide Level 2 technical support

· Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience

· Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure development errors

· Investigate and resolve technical issues

· Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

· Create and maintain JIRA custom workflows and Groovy scripts

· Design and development of CI\CD scripts, frameworks workflows

Required Qualifications:

· BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

· 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role

· Proficient with git and git workflows

· Working knowledge in Windows OS – troubleshooting, scripting, cyber & network

· Advantage for Scripting skills in Python.
