Database Infrastructure Engineer

Job DescriptionAs a Database Engineer, you will:

• Build and manage large-scale database systems
• Work with developers in modeling, creating and maintaining data structures
• Assist in R&D of DB-related projects and agendas
• Quickly identify and resolve production issues
• Help automate and develop our internal systems
• Provide on-call support when needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with Relational databases, for example: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with NoSQL such as MongoDB, CouchDB, CouchBase
• You’ve also worked with data products on cloud platforms like AWS and/or GCP
• You’re a fast learner with high level infrastructure knowledge in Unix/Linux systems
• Experience with data architecture, data modeling, performance tuning, high availability, scalability etc.

You’ll get bonus points if you have:

• Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch
• Experience with at least 1 programming language, like Python, GoLang
• A passion for automating things - worked with Ansible/ Jenkins/ Puppet/ Chef
• Experience with the design of new systems
• Experience working with developers and implementing best practices
