Software Leading Engineer – Algorithm Infrastructure Team

The Group

The Infrastructure Team develops applications, tools, workflows and infrastructure that enable teams to innovate faster and more efficiently. Our team includes a blend of software, DevOps and MLOps engineers. We focus on providing cross-organization services and software tools, as well as dedicated infrastructure, tools and development environment for the Sensor Algorithm group. We are involved in a wide range of projects that are critical to Samsung’s success in designing the next generation of products.

We are looking for a passionate leading engineer, who can balance technical expertise with leadership skills to lead the algorithm infrastructure development effort.

What will you do?

• Lead the algorithm infrastructure function and manage a team of 5 engineers.
• Lead technical projects: Oversee key projects, manage scope and deliver high quality solutions that align with our strategic objectives.
• Mentor team members: Provide guidance, support and feedback to team members, and inspire a culture of learning and growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with SW engineers, DevOps/MLOps engineers and algorithm engineers to improve tools, workflows and processes.
• Balance IC and Management roles: Contribute to our codebases while taking on responsibilities in guiding the team and managing the execution of our projects.
• Drive process improvements: Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that streamline workflows and improve productivity for the algorithm engineers we support.

Requirements:

• BSc. in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science
• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• 2+ experience of management experience.
• Strong technical expertise in Python and Linux (5+ years).
• A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams.
• Problem-solving mindset: Able to troubleshooting complex technical challenges and a passion for continuous learning.
• Fluent in English.
• “Can do” attitude and hunger to push one’s boundaries.

Advantages:

• Full stack development: Experience with front-end frameworks like React and back-end development.
• Familiarity with C++ is highly desirable.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and packaging and orchestration tools (GitLab/Jenkins/Docker etc.).
• Experience with hardware development methodologies or image processing.
• Experience with deep-learning technologies (pytorch, ONNX etc.) and related ecosystems.
