Director of Finance

Nefesh B’Nefesh is a nonprofit organization with a staff of 170, committed to supporting Aliyah and enriching Jewish life in Israel. We are seeking a strategic Director of Finance to oversee the financial health and long?term planning of the organization.

Overview
The Director of Finance will lead all financial strategy and operations, forecasting, and compliance. This senior leadership role partners closely with executive leadership and plays a key part in shaping the organization’s financial future.

Key Responsibilities

Manage cash flow, reserves, and financial performance metrics
Lead the accounting department
Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with organizational goals
Prep and oversight of audit of annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with Israeli tax law, nonprofit regulations, and internal controls
Manage relationships with auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, and financial institutions
Build and lead a high?performing finance team
Enhance financial systems and processes to support organizational growth

Requirements

Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Controller or similar financial role
Experience running a budget of over $25 million dollars
Native?level English (required)
Professional Hebrew proficiency (required)
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA strongly advantageous
Strong knowledge of Israeli accounting and nonprofit financial regulations
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and data driven decision making
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
High proficiency with financial systems and advanced Excel
Ability to work full time on site in our Jerusalem office
