About the job:

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineering Manager to join us in Ra'anana, Israel. In this role, you’ll build, organize, and manage a global team of talented Red Hat engineers. You will lead the team's execution and delivery, will be involved in technical designs, discussions and prioritizations. You will also participate in creating team structure, team performance reviews, and coaching and mentoring associates. You'll collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams and open source communities around the globe and major partners, strategic customers, product managers, and global alliance managers. What you will do:

Drive the direction and execution of the core development team and build enterprise software products at scale

Develop and implement the short-and long-term strategies for technology, development, and productization

Contribute and lead technical discussions, designs, cross teams engineering collaboration and customers and partners engagements

Lead the day-to-day activities of the core team around the globe, including detailed project management

Manage and grow a motivated, engaged, and effective team, highly focused on execution and delivery

Play an active role in hiring activities for on-site and remote team

What you will bring:

Experience working as a software engineer, leading complex projects, design, code reviews and more

Deep technical understanding and expertise, ability to navigate through high level system and software architecture, down to detailed designs, code reviews and problem solving . This is a highly technical and hands-on role.

Excellent understanding of all aspects of software development, project management, quality assurance, and customer advocacy in a large-scale environment.

Demonstrated success in delivering large, complex, and enterprise grade solutions to the customer base.

Strong organizational capability including building and executing on aggressive plans, leading the everyday activities of a global engineering team.

Experienced with micro services architecture, kubernetes or similar cloud technologies

Past team-lead or people manager experience is considered a plus
