Role Overview

Maestro is Masterschool's AI-native university product — where our mission becomes a lived student experience. We're not just building a better classroom — we're building an entirely new kind of institution. And like the best universities in the world, what students remember isn't just what they learned — it's how it felt to be there.

You'll design the experiences that make Maestro feel like the best AI university in the world — from the moment a student is accepted, through the connections they build with their cohort, the milestones they celebrate, and the career they launch. At the heart of this role is creating learning motivation through engagement mechanisms: the systems and touchpoints that keep students excited, connected, and committed to their educational journey.

What you'll do

Design and refine key aspects of the student journey at Maestro — from orientation and onboarding, through community features and student dashboards, to graduation experiences and career preparation — creating cohesive, memorable moments that define the university experience.
Partner with product managers, engineers, and operations teams to take experiences from concept to shipped product.
Conduct user research and usability testing with real students to validate assumptions and sharpen your designs.
Actively seek feedback and provide constructive input during design reviews.
Help build and evolve Maestro's design system.

What we're looking for

Experience-led designer: 4+ years designing digital products with a focus on experience-centered work. Background in gaming, social platforms, or entertainment is a bonus.
Journey thinker: You design for the full arc, not just individual screens. You understand how moments connect, build, and pay off over time.
Portfolio that shows range: You've tackled complex, multi-surface products and can show how your design decisions shaped real user behavior.
Strong collaborator: You work well across product, engineering, and business teams, advocate for users when needed, and bring a friendly, positive energy to collaboration.
Perfection-driven: Pixel-perfect execution and a strong visual sensibility.
Clear communicator: You can articulate your design decisions, tell a story with your work, and bring stakeholders along.
Solid design foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication or a related field.

How we hire

We keep it simple and efficient:

Apply with your CV and portfolio. Share a few examples of your work so we can get a sense of how you think and what you’ve built.
Meet us in person. Join us for a 60-minute conversation at the office. You’ll walk us through 1–2 projects from your portfolio and explain your design process from start to finish — how you understood the problem, explored solutions, and arrived at the final outcome.
Take a short home assignment. We’ll send you a small design challenge that reflects the kind of problems we work on.
Present your work. Come back to the office for a 60-minute session where you walk us through your solution. We’ll discuss your thinking, your decisions, and how you approached the problem.
