As a Security Specialist on the Varonis Security Operations and Forensics Group, you will be at the forefront of cyber defense, leading and supporting forensic investigations for our customers while participating in exciting internal projects to enhance our team's capabilities.
You will have the opportunity to use your deep technical expertise in incident response, threat hunting, and scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, to defend our customers against a wide range of threats. In this role, you will also have the chance to train and develop new skills, drive innovation and automation, and mentor junior team members to foster a strong, internal growth environment.

Responsibilities
Independently lead and execute responses to high-profile cyber threat incidents in customer environments
Participate in engineering projects across a variety of security domains including Incident Response, Forensics, Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, etc.
Serve internally and externally as a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help educate peers and customers, when required
Assist in driving innovation and automation to improve overall team capabilities
Contribute to, and improve existing team processes while identifying new opportunities for customer impact
Train and mentor juniors and peers to foster a strong internal growth environment
Requirements
3+ years of experience working in Digital Forensics and Incident Response Teams
Demonstrates deep knowledge of Windows and Linux forensic techniques, tools, and concepts
Strong knowledge of network architecture fundamentals (Proxies, NAT, firewalls, IDPS, DMZ, etc.) as well as common network protocols and applications (TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.)
The strong technical foundation of standard Information Technology concepts and services
Experience working with multiple enterprise security solutions (e.g., SIEMs, Firewalls, IDPS, AV/EDRs, IAM, DLP, etc.)
Proven experience in Security Operation Centers (Detection, Incident Response, Forensics, Hunting, etc.)
Experience working with common cloud technology providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
Proven success contributing to a team-oriented environment
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically on complex problems
Strong scripting skills in either Python or PowerShell
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong critical thinking, deductive reasoning, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
