Application Development Engineer

SCD is a global leader in advanced infrared detectors and electro-optical technologies, located in Northern Israel.

We are looking for an

Application Development Engineer

to join our R&D – Physics & Electro-Optics Group. This role is at the crossroads of physics, electro-optics, hardware, and software, offering the chance to work hands-on with advanced imaging systems and engage with global customers.

What you’ll do:

Serve as a technical focal point for application development and system integration.

Support field evaluation and testing of electro-optical modules and systems.

Provide customer support, training, and troubleshooting – locally and internationally.

Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure robust system performance.

Contribute to prototype validation, data analysis, and technical feedback for product improvement.

M.Sc. (or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Electro-Optics, or similar.

3+ years of relevant experience (or 5+ in the industry).

Expertise in at least two of: system engineering, electro-optics, electronics, opto-mechanics, image processing, or embedded software.

Strong programming/scripting skills (MATLAB, Python).

Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and customer-oriented mindset.

Fluency in English and willingness to travel abroad.
