Frontend Architect

We're seeking an experienced Frontend Architect to lead our technical vision and contribute to Elementor's groundbreaking drag-and-drop builder. This isn't just a role—it's an opportunity to fundamentally reshape WordPress website creation, pushing the boundaries of performance, scalability, and user experience.

Role Overview

As a Frontend Architect, you'll be the technical strategist driving Elementor's ecosystem forward. You'll design transformative Frontend solutions, craft meticulous coding standards, and mentor a world-class development team. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, you'll define the technical north star that keeps our drag-and-drop builder light-years ahead of the competition, continuously innovating at the intersection of design, performance, and user empowerment.

Requirements:

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of frontend development experience
Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and React ecosystem
Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance optimization techniques
Proven track record of architecting large-scale web applications
Experience with modern build tools and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
Experience with state management solutions (Redux, MobX, or similar)
Knowledge of SEO best practices and their technical implementation
Strong experience with PHP and WordPress development is a big plus

Technical Expertise

Frontend: TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS,
Performance: Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, WebPageTest
Backend: PHP 7+, WordPress theme/plugin development (a plus)
Tools: Webpack, Vite, Git, npm/yarn
Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, PHPUnit
CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar

Preferred Qualifications and Soft Skills

Previous experience working with Elementor or similar page builders
Knowledge of WordPress Gutenberg block development
Understanding of containerization and deployment strategies
Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Ability to balance technical debt with business priorities
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Collaborative and innovative work environment

Responsibilities:

Design and implement cutting-edge frontend architecture using TypeScript and React within Elementor's drag-and-drop builder framework
Architect innovative builder features that preserve and elevate Elementor's intuitive user experience
Lead Core Web Vitals optimization initiatives for Elementor-built pages and the builder interface
Define robust coding standards and architectural patterns for high-performance drag-and-drop components
Create and maintain technical documentation for Elementor's frontend systems and processes
Cultivate development excellence by mentoring junior developers, conducting rigorous code reviews, and championing a testing-driven culture
Bridge design and development by collaborating closely with UX/UI designers to create responsive, accessible components
Lead technical decision-making for builder enhancements and new features
Maximize performance optimization, focusing on editor responsiveness and generated page performance
