The Mechanical Quality Control (QC) Engineer Intern ensures that all mechanical works are planned, supervised, and executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design specifications, drawings, applicable codes, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards. The role involves overseeing subcontractors in activities such as HVAC installations, plumbing and piping systems, fire protection, and mechanical equipment positioning, while coordinating with the project team and client to maintain strict adherence to the quality control plan. Key responsibilities include monitoring site execution, conducting inspections and tests (such as pressure, hydrostatic, and duct leakage tests), reviewing technical submittals, and ensuring accurate documentation of mechanical construction activities. Success in this position requires strong mechanical engineering foundation, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results within budget and schedule.
This position is directly reporting to the project QCM and PM.

Process Collaboration: Active participation in determining correct mechanical work processes together with the project manager and QC team on a daily level and within the framework of daily/weekly/monthly meetings.
3-Phase Inspections: Verifying the readiness of the area before starting work, carrying out a preparatory meeting with the subcontractor and then with the customer, and performing initial and follow-up inspections during the work (3 Phases inspections). Coordinating mechanical installation areas with the foreman.
Daily Reporting: Completing daily reports that include mechanical QC processes, controls made, laboratory/site tests, materials provided, delays, and forwarding any other relevant information to QCM. Filling out the report is required daily.
Sequence Planning: Confirming and enabling a proper work sequence—to be several steps ahead according to the stages of execution (Submittals/work processes/RFI/ordering mechanical materials and equipment, etc.).
Subcontractor Management: Managing the mechanical subcontractor before and during the execution of the work and during the delivery of the project.
As-Built & Red Lines: Updating Red Line drawings monthly (based on RFIs or constraints in the field regarding piping, ductwork, or equipment routing)—required in order to approve the monthly payment in front of the customer.
O&M Manuals: Updating on a weekly basis in the QC meeting the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual for mechanical equipment and reporting to the QCM in order to create the full manual for submittal in the closeout submittals.
Billing Support: Monitoring the performance of the work and assisting in the preparation of a monthly bill for the mechanical contractor if necessary (per project manager request/decision).
