AI Research Scientist (Student Position)

About The Position

Join the Content team within Pixellot's AI group, where you'll work on innovative AI solutions that transform how sports content is created and experienced.

This is an applied research, hands-on role focused on working with real data, training models, and integrating them into production systems.

At Pixellot, we are dedicated to revolutionizing sports production. Our AI-powered solutions automatically capture sports events and transform them into personalized content, turning key sports moments into engaging experiences for players, teams, and fans. As an AI Research Scientist, you will have a direct impact on the company's innovation and success, playing a crucial role in advancing our core AI capabilities.

As part of your role, you will:

Design, implement, and evaluate deep learning models for computer vision tasks such as detection, tracking, and event recognition.
Contribute to the research lifecycle, from literature review and experimental design to proof-of-concept development.
Work hands-on with real-world video data: data analysis, preprocessing, training and evaluation.
Collaborate with senior researchers and engineers to translate research ideas into practical solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in computer vision and deep learning research.
Participate in model integration and applied development, not only experimentation.
Requirements
Currently pursuing an M.Sc / PhD with thesis in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent).
At least 1 year remaining in your studies.
Availability to work 3 days per week on-site.
Proven experience in Computer Vision (from research, projects, or coursework).
Strong theoretical and practical understanding of deep learning, particularly for computer vision tasks.
Excellent programming skills, with strong proficiency in Python.
Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
Demonstrated ability for independent research, problem-solving, and self-learning.
Hands-on mindset and motivation to work with data, train models, evaluate results and improve performance.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience working with video data for tasks such as action recognition, temporal modeling, or event detection.
