What will I be doing?
Ex Libris is seeking a Java Developer.
The developer will be a member of the Discovery Development team, which is part of Ex Libris Research and Discovery Solutions. The Developer’s job includes understanding the requirements defined by the business analysts, designing and implementing a technical solution, and facilitating testing and rollout of the feature. This position is for a full-stack programmer. The work includes bug fixes along with performance, stability, and long-term maintenance tasks, communicating with other teams, product owners, and our support analysts. You should be comfortable working in a self-organizing team that works from remote positions and be a part of a global team, which requires flexibility in hours to accommodate the working time zones of other team members.
Qualified candidates must have:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
· 1-2 years of experience with multiple programming languages.
· 1-2 years of experience with Object-Oriented development with Java.
· Experience with Oracle PL/SQL
· Experience with relational databases
· Ability to design, implement, and execute automated tests.
· High level of English.
It would be awesome if you also had:
· Knowledge and experience with databases (i.e., Cassandra), search engines (Solr), REST, Spring, Hibernate, and Tomcat technologies.
· Experience with any of the following – advantages: Hibernate, Tomcat, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSD, Angular
· Experience with Solr
· Familiarity with Unix / Linux
· Experience with Load Balancers, Networking/IP, Storage.
· Experience with scripting (Python/Bash), Regex, and automation.
· Experience with Agile Methodologies.
More important information for you:
· Our base is in the Jerusalem, Israel office, working in a hybrid model.
· You will report to a development team leader with Scrum methodology.
