About the department
The Business Development department is responsible for identifying growth opportunities for the company and plays a pivotal role in executing the company’s strategy Growth can come organically to support our existing games (regional expansion, platform expansion, IP collaboration, and more) and non-organically by finding growth opportunities such as M&A publishing opportunities and any other external partnerships that can support the business. The department is providing industry benchmarks, trends, and insights to executive management. They also build and maintain relations with all platforms and support our internal studios with all BD projects and platform collaborations The BD Manager is responsible for market tracking and generating actionable business opportunities for the company in accordance with the company's strategy. The BD Manager should be comfortable with data and the ability to extract insights from data. On Top of this, they should use the data to build a picture of the market, generate opinions on the market, and then enter the market to find relevant opportunities for Plarium according to its strategy. A strong understanding of company strategy and the company's position within the wider market is crucial. The BD Manager should possess strong people skills and the ability to negotiate and should enjoy the prospect of attending public events to build networks and generate opportunities. The BD Manager should be actively interested in games and gaming, primarily on mobile and PC, but console and other platforms are a plus. A basic understanding of game mechanics and genres is required.
Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of the gaming industry, competition, and ecosystem
Build network and relations with other companies, potential future partners, bankers, and VCs to learn the market and maintain a database with all connections
Track the market using a variety of tools such as Sensor Tower, Data.AI, Crunchbase, and more, and maintain tracking/database
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities that are in accordance with Plarium's strategic objectives and present them to the leadership team.
Identify, build and manage an actionable pipeline of potential companies we can collaborate with (M&A and publishing)
Filter opportunities and build in depth case studies that supports your thesis (with the support of other units in the HQ) and present it to management
Find geo-expansion opportunities for our existing and upcoming games
Identify potential IPs we can collaborate with, create connections with IP holders and internal stakeholders
Attend industry events to expand your network and generate business leads.
What we expect
Experience and knowledge in the gaming industry – a must
3+ years of experience from a gaming company or other company in this field – must
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, – must
Strong project management and business development skills
Ability to work within a diverse and fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and solid follow through
Excellent and deep knowledge of Excel – must
Proven presentation skills, with the ability to generate high-impact presentations
Outstanding interpersonal skills along with strong verbal and written communication abilities in English
Able to work independently, as well as part of a team
