R&D Director

Comm-IT is looking for an experienced R&D Director to lead and grow one of our engineering groups.
In this role, you'll drive technical strategy, lead engineering managers and teams, and play a key role in shaping our products, architecture and engineering culture.
Responsibilities

Lead and mentor Team Leads and engineering managers.
Define the technical vision and influence key architectural decisions.
Own delivery, quality, execution and timelines across multiple projects.
Drive engineering processes and operational excellence.
Develop and mentor employees, supporting their professional growth.
Act as the highest technical escalation point within the group.Work closely with executive leadership and report directly to the CEO.

Requirements:

Requirements

7+ years of engineering management experience, including 3+ years managing Team Leads and/or Group Leads.
Proven track record of delivering complex software products from concept to production.
Strong leadership skills with a people-first, data-driven approach.
7+ years of hands-on full stack development experience with Node.js and/or Python.
Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and system design.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Vast experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
