Bloomberg Engineering in Tel Aviv is hiring Software Engineers to build financial services that help clients analyze and monitor their trading activity. Our systems power:

Personalized reports and visualizations

Best execution and compliance analysis

API access to historical trading data

Large-scale business intelligence

We are currently hiring for two product development teams:

BTCA – Bloomberg Transaction Cost Analysis

The team builds sophisticated analytics that help our clients measure, evaluate, and optimize their trading performance across global markets. Our solutions provide insights into execution quality, liquidity, and trading costs, enabling clients to make more informed decisions. The BTCA engineering team designs, develops, and supports the infrastructure and applications that power this suite of analytics. We work on high-performance, large-scale systems handling complex datasets, integrating with Bloomberg’s core data platforms and client-facing products.

Engineering Toolkit

Backend development in Python and C++

Data storage and processing with Oracle, Postgres, Iceberg, Trino, Amazon S3

Workflow orchestration with Airflow

State & History

Provides detailed real-time and historical trading data across Bloomberg applications. Maintains 350TB of data with billions of orders and transactions

Our tech stack:

We do both OLTP (HBase) and OLAP (Trino over ORC Tables)

Backend services are a mix of C++ and Java

Batch jobs in Spark (Scala

What We’re Looking For:

Strong skills in C++, Python, or Java

Experience with large-scale systems and databases

Distributed computing experience is an advantage

Passion for clean code, automated testing, and incremental improvements

Combine strong team-player skills with the ability to work independently

Curiosity about trading, compliance, and financial markets
