Role Overview

The Head of Global Security will be accountable for overseeing the entire security landscape of the company. This includes defining the company's security strategy and work plan, and ensuring robust governance, processes, audits, and controls. The Head of Global Security will lead strategic security initiatives to protect the company’s assets, data, and technology, and to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure alignment of security strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities & Scope of Role

Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with the company’s goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving cyber threats.
Develop a proactive approach to oversee and govern security processes, ensuring a preventive and active cybersecurity defense, and compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Direct and manage comprehensive audits and controls, assessing and mitigating risks across the organization.
Manage three main security functions:
Security Operations Center (SOC): Responsible for detecting and responding to security incidents and related response procedures.
Security Architecture: Guide and monitor the development and implementation of security frameworks and architectures that support the strategic objectives and technological landscape of the company.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Responsible for managing a comprehensive risk management plan and monitoring through policy development, compliance audits, and best practices.
Enable the company sales during deal processes.
Collaborate with different stakeholders across the company to align security strategies with business processes and risks, including strong collaboration with the R&D leadership regarding SSDLC.
Serve as the expert advisor to the CIO and other key stakeholders on all matters pertaining to information security. Prepare reports and records for the management team.
Assist in the preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.
Promote a culture of security awareness throughout the organization. Develop, implement, and manage security training.
Comply with security KPIs and ensure continuous improvement of security measures.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a CISO or in a similar leadership role in security in a mid-large company (>500 employees). Experience within a publicly traded company is an advantage.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, incident management, and security operations.
Extensive experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC).
Past experience in IT infrastructure and sysadmin in a hi-tech company is an advantage.
Proven experience managing complicated security incidents and events.
Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and security initiatives.
Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Strong strategic planning as well as tactical response capabilities.
Highly organized, with excellent prioritization and focus. Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and efficiency under stressful situations.
Vast experience providing security solutions within complex environments (physical, virtual, SaaS, and IaaS).
Great team player.
Strong learning capabilities.
Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCNA, etc.) are preferred.
