Information Security Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Secures network by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, securing highly sensitive data and testing security systems; preparing security standards, policies, and procedures; mentoring team members

RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
Engineers, implements, and monitors security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
Identifies and defines system security requirements.
Prepares and documents standard operating procedures and protocols.
Configures and troubleshoots security infrastructure devices.
Develops technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Ensures that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents.
Writes comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.
Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge in building and maintaining security systems.
Knowledge of detailed, technical database and operating system security.
Skill in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
Skill with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
Ability to understanding the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
Ability to work with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree in computer information management, computer science or other related fields or equivalent work experience.
CompTIA CASP+, (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other equivalent certifications or work experience.
Preferred experience with the following:
Antivirus
EDR/MDR
Email security
Social Engineering
IDS/IPS
Threat Intelligence
Cloud computing
SIEM/Log Management
Vulnerability Management
Forensics
