We’re seeking a Quantum Error Correction Researcher to join our Hardware Solutions team, a specialized team within the Product organization. This team develops product-ready solutions that help advance quantum hardware into the fault-tolerant era, translating quantum error correction research into capabilities that can be delivered to customers and integrated into Classiq’s R&D and product stack.

This role is ideal for a hands-on research engineer who enjoys working end-to-end from understanding theory, through implementation, to customer-facing.

Requirements:

PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Strong background with hands-on experience in quantum computing, preferably in quantum error correction
Proven ability to independently bridge theory and practice, from research concepts to working software
Solid software development experience, preferably in Python
Strong problem-solving skills and a product-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with customers

Bonus Points

Deep knowledge of quantum error-correcting codes (e.g., surface codes, stabilizer codes, bosonic codes)
Experience with quantum software frameworks and simulators (e.g., Classiq, Qiskit, Cirq, Stim, PennyLane)
Prior work on logical qubits, decoding algorithms, or fault-tolerant protocols
Experience working closely with quantum hardware teams or external partners
Publications or applied research experience in quantum computing or quantum error correction

Responsibilities:

Research, design, and implement fault-tolerance and quantum error correction solutions aligned with real quantum hardware constraints
Translate theoretical concepts into practical, product-ready algorithms, tools, and software components
Develop high-quality, maintainable code (primarily in Python) that can be delivered to R&D and integrated into the Classiq platform
Work independently from problem definition through validated implementation and handoff
Collaborate closely with product managers, R&D teams, and algorithm developers to ensure solutions meet product and customer needs
Engage with customers and hardware partners to understand requirements and align solutions with real-world use cases
Contribute to shaping Classiq’s fault-tolerance roadmap and long-term product strategy
