As a Generative AI QA Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming Rekor’s QA processes through automation, intelligence, and Generative AI innovation. You will own the QA lifecycle end-to-end — from test design and manual verification to implementing intelligent, AI-driven automation systems that elevate product quality across Rekor’s platforms. You will work closely with Fullstack, Product, BI, QA, AI & ML teams, and Data Engineering to ensure system reliability, accuracy, and scalability. In this role, you will lead Rekor’s transition from legacy QA frameworks to next-generation, AI-powered testing systems that redefine how quality is achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Own the QA Lifecycle — design, execute, and maintain comprehensive QA processes. In areas without automation, perform manual verification, write clear test documentation (STDs), ensure release readiness, and strive to automate them using modern frameworks and AI-driven solutions.
Lead the Transition to AI-Driven Testing Frameworks — spearhead the modernization of Rekor’s QA automation architecture by integrating Generative AI into scalable testing infrastructures.
Modernize and Migrate Legacy QA Systems — lead the migration from existing automation frameworks to next-generation, AI-driven systems designed for performance, maintainability, and intelligence.
Collaborate Across Disciplines — work closely with Fullstack, Product, BI, QA, AI & ML teams, and Data Engineering to embed intelligent quality validation throughout the product lifecycle.
Design and Build AI-Driven QA Systems — leverage Generative AI to accelerate test creation, execution, and reporting; improve coverage and precision through intelligent automation.
Continuously Improve QA Processes — innovate automation coverage, enhance bug detection, and evolve predictive quality analysis with AI-enhanced insights.
REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

At least 2 years of QA engineering experience, including writing STDs, performing manual verification, and testing REST APIs, cloud-based solutions, and SaaS environments.
At least 1 year of production-grade experience working directly with Generative AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
Proven hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Pytest, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a deep commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Advantages

Hands-on experience with Sub-Agents and Automated Workflow Systems such as n8n, Make, or similar orchestration platforms.
Experience with AI-driven end-to-end automation systems such as TestGrid.
Solid programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
