Lead Senior Robotics Systems Engineer

Haifa, Israel – Hybrid, 2 days a week.

Orbis are working with one of the most innovative, Advanced Agriculture Robotics organisations to develop highly effective greenhouse solutions.

We are now searching for a Senior Robotics Engineer with strong Process Automation and Python experience to develop some unique products and solutions.

Role Description:
Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration (Hardware, Algorithms, Product) to delineate system capabilities and ensure that our software abstractions align with robustness and scalability.
Stay abreast of cutting-edge hardware and sensing technologies to identify avenues for enhancing fleet performance and cost-efficiency.
Spearhead software design and integration of sensors and motor drivers.
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis of escalated issues pertaining to hardwaresoftware integration.
Offer technical mentorship to team members through clear architecture definitions, designs, and constructive feedback during code reviews.
Qualifications Experience Required:
Extensive track record in software development tailored for intricate systems interfacing with sensor inputs and control loops.
Demonstrated expertise in system integration and software architecture.
Proficient in managing hardware interfaces like RS232, I2C, CAN, and EtherCAT, leveraging their respective software frameworks.
Well-versed in contemporary sensing technologies like LiDAR, Time-of-Flight (ToF) Cameras, and 3D Cameras.
Exceptional programming abilities in Python and C++ within the Linux environment.
Proven experience in the design and implementation of robotic systems using robotic middleware (e.g., ROS), along with leveraging existing libraries and tools.
Possessing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with over 5 years of industry experience, including at least 1 year in a technical leadership capacity.
