Technical Deployment Engineer

This role involves getting our systems into the field and working, from site readiness and installation, through integration and commissioning, to formal acceptance and handover.
Most of the work is from the offices, with travel to customer sites for surveys, deployments, and hands-on work.

What you'll do

Plan and execute deployments: site readiness, hardware installation, network bring-up, edge compute provisioning, and stack integration (cameras, radars, networking, the Kela platform)
Prepare deployments before they leave the building: staging, imaging, configuration, pre-delivery testing, and kit verification
Integrate with customer infrastructure and third-party systems, and resolve the issues that only surface once the system is deployed.
Troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and network layers under field conditions and time pressure
Hand over cleanly: train operators, deliver documentation, and make sure the site is supportable after you leave
Support deployed sites remotely - version rollouts, config changes, hotfixes - and escalate to R&D, systems, and algo when issues need to go deeper
Build and maintain the deployment runbooks, checklists, and tooling that turn a one-off into a repeatable process
Report field findings back to the product and engineering teams: what broke, what was missing, what should be different next time
Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, especially when things are time-sensitive

What we need

3+ years in field deployment, integration, field engineering, or a similar hands-on role in mission-critical environments
Strong Linux fundamentals and hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes
Networking across the stack: complex topologies, cellular, satellite, VPN/overlay networks, with real experience debugging connectivity on live sites
Comfortable with hardware: racking, cabling, power, sensors, mounts, and the physical realities of a site
Proficient in Bash and Python for automation and one-off investigations
Hands-on with databases and storage: queries, diagnostics, understanding what's happening under the hood
Able to read code and debug logs to trace issues to root cause
Fluent with GitHub as a daily tool
Effective in the field: works methodically under pressure, in uncomfortable conditions, with incomplete information
Precise, analytical, and reflective: you draw conclusions from data, not instinct, and you make sure the same problem doesn't bite you twice
Strong ownership and a can-do mindset: you take initiative, drive tasks to completion, and finish the half-finished thing you walked past
Learns quickly and operates effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Clear communicator, in writing and on calls, with technical and non-technical people
