Water Treatment Commissioning Engineer

The Water Treatment Commissioning Engineer is a mid-senior level position responsible for leading the commissioning, start-up, optimization, and initial handover of water treatment facilities in IDE Water Technologies LTD (hereafter “Company”) projects worldwide.
The Commissioning Engineer leads integration activities between systems, on-site testing, troubleshooting, operation, thorough documentation, training of client staff, and hands-on technical support at project sites, ensuring full and successful handover to the client and compliance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:
The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning and executing on-site commissioning and start-up of water treatment facilities, including system validation, integration, calibration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Key duties include developing commissioning plans, testing and verifying system components, preparing, and updating O&M and handover documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to safety, schedule, and quality targets, and providing technical training and support to clients. The role also involves managing site tasks, participating in system trials and pilots, and facilitating a smooth operational handover to the client.

Travel: Frequent travel to international company facilities is required.

Required Qualifications / Experience / Threshold Requirements

BSc or MSc in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Biotechnology Engineering or relevant discipline
At least 7 years of on-site experience in commissioning, start-up, or operation of water treatment systems (RO, UF, wastewater etc.)
Experience with system acceptance testing (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ), calibration, troubleshooting, and technical field support
High service orientation, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead and instruct teams
Strong proficiency in reading process drawings (P&ID), instrumentation and control systems
High proficiency in English, willingness for frequent travel abroad
Experience in multi-disciplinary teamwork and managing multiple schedules
