Mechanical Buyer

A global provider of innovative communication solutions is looking for a Mechanical Buyer to join their Purchasing Department in Netanya
The Mechanical Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the mechanical category, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. This role involves sourcing new suppliers, driving cost reductions, and overseeing vendor performance to support project-oriented, high-mix, low-volume operations.

*Responsibilities:*
* Execute purchasing activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and procuring mechanical components.
* Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure consistent performance and quality.
* Identify and evaluate new vendors to expand and strengthen the supply chain.
* Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
* Monitor and ensure vendor performance meets company requirements.
* Perform daily procurement tasks, including follow-ups, reporting, and maintaining accurate records.

*Requirements:*
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings (mandatory).
* Background in mechanical engineering or related fields; practical experience is an advantage.
* Experience in project-oriented environments with high mix and low volume production.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (Priority is an advantage).
* Strong Excel skills and proficiency in using spreadsheets for data analysis.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
* Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
* Team-oriented, with the ability to function well in a matrix organization.
* Fluent in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
* Good understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
