Blue Team Cyber Manager-Relocation

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Blue Team Cyber Manager to lead and mentor a team of trainers while also actively delivering top-tier instruction in Blue Team cybersecurity disciplines. This role is integral to our Cyber Academy, ensuring that students receive high-quality, practical, and up-to-date training in defensive cybersecurity strategies.

This is a full relocation position, and the selected candidate will play a key role in enhancing the academy’s curriculum, developing training methodologies, and maintaining high engagement levels among students and trainers.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

Manage, mentor, and oversee a team of Blue Team cybersecurity trainers, ensuring high standards of training delivery.
Provide continuous professional development and support for instructors to enhance their teaching and technical capabilities.
Develop and implement strategic plans to improve training quality and effectiveness within the academy.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate the growth of training staff.
Act as the primary point of contact between trainers, academy leadership, and other key stakeholders.

Training & Instruction:

Deliver expert-level instruction on Blue Team topics, including but not limited to:
Security Operations Center (SOC) management and workflows
Incident detection, response, and mitigation
Threat intelligence and analysis
SIEM tools and log analysis
Endpoint and network security
Digital forensics and malware analysis
Risk assessment and vulnerability management
Defensive security strategies and frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)
Ensure courses are engaging, interactive, and aligned with industry best practices.
Lead hands-on workshops, simulations, and lab exercises to reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Curriculum Development & Optimization:

Develop, refine, and enhance training materials, exercises, and assessments to align with industry trends.
Collaborate with other cybersecurity professionals to ensure the academy’s curriculum remains cutting-edge.
Integrate real-world case studies and emerging threat scenarios into course content.
Stay up to date with advancements in Blue Team methodologies, cybersecurity threats, and industry certifications.

Collaboration & Industry Engagement:

Engage with cybersecurity communities and organizations to bring the latest knowledge and techniques into the academy.
Work closely with academy leadership to define strategic objectives for training programs.
Foster relationships with industry partners to facilitate guest lectures, workshops, and potential job placements for students.

Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on experience in Blue Team cybersecurity roles (SOC Manager, Incident Response Lead, Threat Intelligence Analyst, or similar positions).
2+ years of leadership or managerial experience, preferably leading training teams or cybersecurity professionals.
Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity training and curriculum development.
Strong expertise in defensive security tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ELK, etc.), EDR/XDR solutions, forensic analysis tools, and security automation.
In-depth understanding of attack techniques and corresponding defense mechanisms.
Experience working in high-pressure security environments such as SOCs or Incident Response teams.
Familiarity with cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, or equivalent.
Excellent leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
Strong ability to present complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
