Data Engineer

Overwolf is looking for a brave Data Engineer to help us build and maintain a robust analytics platform for internal and external purposes.

Requirements:

Strong SQL experience (2+ years) in querying large and complex data sets
Proven hands-on experience (2+ years) in a cloud-based data warehouse, preferably Snowflake
Proficiency in data modeling (2+ years) specifically star schema methodology (dimensions, facts, profiles, etc.)
2+ years of experience of data ingestion, integration and wrangling in a Python-based environment
Bright and proactive; works well both independently and as part of a team, passionate about data
Hands-on experience with data workflow management platforms such as Airflow, Astronomer or Cloud Composer
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
BSc/BA in a highly quantitative field such as Industrial Engineering / Information Technology / Advanced Statistics background or equivalent academic knowledge

Bonus points:

True passion for gaming (PC / Console)
Hands-on Codeless ETL programming experience with Rivery / Fivetran (or equivalent)
Experienced in Docker architecture
Hands-on experience with Tableau (or equivalent) and the ability to communicate insights in a visual, slick manner
Can cast resurrection spells while in combat.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Be a critical part of our core analytics platform, helping to drive business value for both internal and external customers
Serve as a cross-organizational data expert and assist in cultivating a data-driven culture by empowering data exploration and accessibility
Design, develop, and maintain a cross-platform data infrastructure using cutting-edge technologies in a big data environment
Build scalable, reliable, and business-entity-centered data models and data marts
Develop robust and efficient data solutions, including DAGs, documentation, dimensions, facts, and aggregations
Champion data accuracy, quality, and validity across systems and processes
Wield a magical sword that glows blue near goblins, orcs, and bad data
