About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Counsel to join our team. As the company's senior legal advisor, you will be responsible for setting and leading the legal strategy across all aspects of our business. This is a critical role that combines hands-on legal work with strategic counsel to executive leadership.

What you will do:

Corporate Governance:

Advise the Board and executive team on governance best practices.

Draft, review, and maintain corporate records and board resolutions.

Manage shareholder matters and company secretarial obligations.

Commercial Contracts:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (SaaS, vendor, partnership, procurement, NDAs, etc.)

Lead the development of contract templates and workflows

Regulatory & Compliance:

Ensure the company complies with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions

Oversee data privacy policies and regulatory risk assessments (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)

Intellectual Property:

Manage IP strategy including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and licensing

Coordinate with external counsel on IP registration and protection

Employment & Labor:

Advise on global employment law matters including hiring, terminations, policies, and disputes

Support People & Culture team on employee relations and compliance

Risk Management & Litigation:

Identify legal risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies

Manage litigation, disputes, and relationships with outside counsel as needed

Our ideal candidate will have:

Law degree and active license to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
8+ years of experience, including both law firm and in-house roles (startup or tech company preferred)
Demonstrated experience in at least 5 of the following areas:

Corporate Governance

Commercial Contracts

Regulatory & Compliance

Intellectual Property

Employment & Labor

Risk Management & Litigation

Proven ability to work independently and manage legal matters from strategy to execution.
Strong business acumen, excellent communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Fluent in English (native or near-native level). Additional languages are a plus.
Nice to Have:
Experience in a fast-growing global tech/startup environment.
Familiarity with public company readiness or M&A activity.
Understanding of legal operations and the use of legal tech tools.
