What you will do:

Build and own Venice's legal function from scratch as our first legal hire, setting up the governance, policies, playbooks and processes we'll scale on through our next stages of growth.
Take enterprise deals end-to-end, from first redline to signature: SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, DPAs, security addendums, vendor, reseller and partnership agreements with Fortune 500 customers.
Design and lead our privacy, security and AI compliance program across GDPR, CCPA, Israeli privacy law and emerging AI regulation such as the EU AI Act, working hand in hand with our SOC 2 and ISO 27001 efforts.
Shape how AI agents are governed legally and contractually. Liability, data handling and access rights for autonomous agents is a net-new area with no playbook to copy from.
Lead legal strategy across IP, employment, corporate governance and Israel-US entity matters, and support fundraising, strategic partnerships and future M&A from due diligence to close.
Collaborate directly with the founders and with Sales, Finance, Security, HR and R&D as a business-first advisor, helping teams move fast with confidence instead of slowing them down.
You will be working with modern, AI-powered legal tools, such as contract lifecycle management and AI-assisted review and redlining, to build a lean, highly leveraged legal operation and manage outside counsel efficiently.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience as a Commercial / Tech Lawyer in a fast-paced environment, ideally combining a leading law firm with an in-house role at a B2B SaaS or tech company.
LL.B, J.D. or equivalent, licensed to practice law in Israel, with proven experience drafting and negotiating complex B2B SaaS, data processing and service agreements.
Solid understanding of privacy and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, Israeli law) and familiarity with information security frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Strong grasp of AI and its legal implications, and the ability to get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar jurisdictions and topics.
Business-minded lawyer with sharp judgment who balances risk with opportunity and gives clear, practical answers rather than long legal memos.
Self-starter who works independently, seeks to understand the big picture, and takes full ownership of projects to drive them to completion.
Excellent communication skills with fluent written and spoken English, capable of explaining complex legal issues clearly to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
Prior experience working in cybersecurity organizations is a plus.
Experience as the first or sole in-house lawyer at a growth-stage startup, or with employment law and Israel-US corporate structures, is a plus.
