The Research Engineering team focuses on enabling innovation and productization of Cyera's core value to customers and building the best-in-class data processing and data classification pipelines at the center of Cyera’s products.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Research Engineering Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the data infrastructure that powers Cyera’s innovative solutions. In this role, you’ll design, build, and scale data pipelines and data warehouses from the ground up, creating the backbone for the world’s leading data classification engine. Collaborating closely with researchers and machine learning experts, you’ll enable the development of advanced models, ensuring a seamless flow of high-quality data. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and precision of our platform, advancing our mission to protect critical data.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and automate scalable, efficient data pipelines to process complex datasets from diverse sources, ensuring they are robust and reliable.
Collaborate closely with researchers and data scientists to ensure well-structured, high-quality datasets support model development and experimentation.
Optimize workflows for data processing, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability across systems to support rapid research iterations.
Work with scalable and high-performance data warehouse infrastructure, enabling seamless accessibility, analysis, and reporting of critical data.
Implement automated systems for monitoring and managing data pipelines, guaranteeing uptime, schema compatibility, and reliable performance.

Requirements:

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, data warehouses, and big data solutions.
You are proficient in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience in handling complex data challenges.
You excel in designing cloud-based data architectures on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and working with distributed, high-scale systems.
You have hands-on experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, NSQ, or Pulsar, enabling efficient data transfer and communication.
You’re familiar with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and have experience with modern data stack components.
You thrive in a fast-paced research environment, approaching complex challenges with innovative and scalable solutions.

Nice-to-Haves:

Familiarity with additional data processing frameworks or tools beyond the listed stack.
Experience working on data infrastructure projects within the cybersecurity domain.
Knowledge of advanced machine learning workflows and the specific data challenges they entail.
Proven track record of contributing to open-source data engineering tools or frameworks.
