Junior Software Engineer (full-stack)

Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide!Why this role matters:The Messaging team is responsible for delivering cutting-edge communication solutions across multiple platforms within Vonage.We're currently building one of our most ambitious projects: the CHAT API solution. This new platform will unify team messaging, SMS, MMS, WhatsApp, email, and Facebook messaginginto a single offering. It will serve as a foundation across the organization and power various Vonage products.We are a full-stack team that works end-to-end—from UI to backend. We value creativity,collaboration, and having fun while solving hard problems.Your key responsibilities:Contribute to developing new features and maintaining existing systems within our messaging platformCollaborate with experienced team members in both frontend and backend developmentLearn and apply software engineering best practices (testing, version control, CI/CD, etc.)Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and Agile ceremoniesHelp troubleshoot and resolve production issues with guidance from senior developersContinuously grow your skills through hands-on experience and mentorshipWhat you'll bringRequired:1–3 years of experience in software development (professional or academic/personal projects)Knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python)Familiarity with basic web development principles (frontend or backend)Exposure to databases (relational or non-relational)Eagerness to learn cloud technologies and modern software engineering practicesGood communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, global teamExperience we consider a plus:Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) or containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflowsUnderstanding of REST APIs or microservicesBachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science or related fieldHow you'll benefit:You'll be joining a team of experienced engineers who love to share knowledge and grow together.
