Head of R&D

The *Head of R&D* will be responsible for managing the R&D team, leading the technical roadmap, and ensuring secure, high-performance solutions aligned with product goals. Working closely with the CTO, development, product, and data science teams, this role will balance hands-on involvement, such as code reviews and cloud infrastructure oversight, with high-level strategic planning. The Head of R&D will also champion security protocols and infrastructure integrity to protect our users' data and privacy.

*Requirements*

* *Experience:*
* 6+ years in R&D or engineering roles, and at least *4* years in a *management role*.
* Proven experience leading product development teams, with a strong grasp of end-to-end development, security practices, and infrastructure management.
* Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with strategic planning in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
* *Technical Expertise:*
* Proficiency in *Node.js* and *React*, with a strong understanding of full-stack development and best practices.
* Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GC), DevOps, and best practices for securing cloud-based platforms.
* Proficient in modern software development practices, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
* Familiarity with secure coding practices, data protection, and industry compliance standards.
* Familiarity with WordPress/PHP is beneficial.
* *Leadership & Communication:*
* Ability to break down business goals into actionable R&D roadmaps.
* Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, and setting measurable goals to ensure department and company success.
