Our Sat Connect IC business unit, a division of our Satellite Systems business is a leading provider of ASICs, software, multibeam electronically steered antennas, and complete systems for communication satellites, as well as ground and airborne terminals. Communication Systems Engineer

Be a part of MDA space (IL - Rehovot) system engineering group, leading the design of satellite communication terminals.

Working with worldwide R&D teams and customers
Understanding product requirements and deriving system and sub-systems requirements
Be a technical lead and owner of the system under your responsibility, working with various R&D teams in the company
Leading and taking part in system integration

Responsibilities

As a part of the team, the responsibility is to get a product designed from stakeholder requirements, setting requirements for all company’s disciplines – System architecture, HW, SW, RF, antennas, analog, DSP & mechanics.

Create and own system requirements and specification documents
Leading system integration plans and carry out integration activities
Carry out system reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR), risks mitigation plans and design tradeoffs
Defining system architecture, interfaces, functionality and features
Simulating performance and various system functionalities

Experience and qualifications

Must

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in EE
At least 3 years of experience as a system engineer. Proven record of system engineering of multi-disciplinary product including RF and antennas domain.
Deep understanding of Tx and Rx RF channels and DSP
MATLAB/Python hands-on knowledge
Lab experience – system / module / component level

Advantage

Background and experience in communication systems and algorithms – advantage
Experience or knowledge in chip design and mixed-signal SOCs architecture - advantage
Experience in a system full life cycle – from product requirements to customer delivery
Experience or knowledge of ETH network systems, features and SW stack

Personal skills

Ability to work independently and as a team player
Creative, innovative, willing to learn and share knowledge and ideas
Leading tasks and taking ownership
Languages – High level of verbal writing in English is required
