Lead Automation Infrastructure Engineer

As a Lead Automation Infrastructure Engineer, you will establish and lead our test automation infrastructure and practices across the organization. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you’ll design and evolve scalable frameworks, collaborate across engineering functions, and enable teams to deliver quality quickly. If you’re passionate about infrastructure, automation, and empowering teams through smart systems, this is your opportunity to define and build a function from the ground up.

As a Lead Automation Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

Design and implement test automation frameworks and tools aligned with our tech stack (Java, React, Cypress, Playwright).
Drive automation infrastructure initiatives including environment management, test data provisioning, and CI/CD integration.
Collaborate with developers, QA, SREs, and DevOps to embed intelligent automation across the development lifecycle.
Evaluate and introduce AI-based testing tools and practices to improve coverage, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Own and manage test infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop dashboards and reporting systems to track test execution, quality trends, and automation health.
Lead automation best practices across teams, mentoring engineers and supporting hands-on implementation.

You should apply if you have:

6+ years of experience in software test automation or infrastructure engineering.
Strong programming skills (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).
Proven hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks like Cypress and Playwright.
Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and experience integrating automation into pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Solid background in AWS and test environment management.
Experience with test data management and synthetic data generation.
A track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without authority.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach.
Familiarity with SRE/DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane (an advantage).
Experience with AI-powered testing tools (an advantage).
Background in SaaS and/or enterprise B2B products (an advantage).
Knowledge of observability tools and quality metrics (an advantage).
Experience establishing automation platforms or frameworks from scratch (an advantage).
