We are looking for an excellent Director of Engineering to join our team in Israel.
Reporting to: VP Operations
The Director of Engineering will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including process, validation, and equipment engineers, to ensure robust and high-quality production of medical devices. The role is responsible for ensuring ongoing production at the highest quality standards while achieving organizational goals of capacity increase, yield improvement, and cost reduction. This position covers both internal manufacturing facilities and global suppliers, requiring strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the engineering team (process, validation, and equipment).
Set priorities and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Manage semi-automatic and manual production lines, ensuring seamless operations and reduced downtime.
Lead technical investigations into product, process, and equipment-related issues.
Drive continuous improvements in quality, yield, throughput, and cost efficiency.
Track production performance (OEE, yield, capacity) and initiate improvement projects.
Own and maintain the Design Master Record (DMR).
Lead and manage validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) for implementing changes in released products.
Support and lead MRB, CAPA, NC, and complaint handling processes.
Lead NPI activities, ensuring DMR creation, validation, and readiness for mass production.
Develop and qualify manufacturing tooling and jigs for scalability.
Act as the main technical focal point with global suppliers (injection molding, metal stamping, PCBA/SMT manufacturing).
Ensure supplier process capability, quality, and technical alignment with product requirements.
Job Requirements
Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience leading an engineering team in a mass-production environment.
Proven experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, or pharma (advantage).
Strong experience with motion-control production lines.
Experienced with injection molding, metal stamping, and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes.
Experienced in initiating and executing cost-reduction projects and operational excellence (OpEx) initiatives.
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Hands-on experience with validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), manufacturing tooling, and automation processes.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to work effectively with global suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of quality systems, CAPA, NC, and complaint management processes.
