Crew Coordinator

We are hiring a Crew Coordinator that would be fully responsible for manning the vessels with professional and qualification crew members in accordance with minimum operational standard and additional requests.

Main Tasks:

Vessels crew managing

Managing Israeli and foreign marine personnel on Zim’s owned vessels.
Responsible for approximately 200 crew members on board the vessel at any given time, while managing the Seafarers database on shore.

Operations & coordination

 Placement & coordination of Israeli & foreign crew on the vessels taking into consideration the circumstances-
Preferences of both of Seafarers and the system
Personal events, diseases, vacations, familiarization of the vessel
Shortage of Israeli and foreign personnel
Revising the worthiness of trade-offs on different ports in order to reduce costs
Taking into account the political motives in front of the Israeli officer's union
Operations- coordination of crew replacements in Israel and abroad, including:
organization of flights, coordination with the hiring agents abroad, filling in all paperwork required and all necessary documents (including visas as needed) in order to assign the seamen, reporting to ZIM port agents on arrival/ disembarking of crew, coordinating transportation, hotels & medical tests

Personal issues

Ongoing contact with maritime authorities-Police border, Ministry of transport, Haifa Port, Rambam Medical center, Akko marine training institute
Coordination with Ministry of transport- coordinating exams, issuing sailing permits, transfer crew lists
Tracking & monitoring seamen’s evaluations and handling issues regarding discipline & training
Recommendations for promotion & tenure
Conserving foreign Seaman’s
Managing & providing Seaman’s telephone codes & E-mails
Managing & printing ongoing correspondence regarding the Seaman
Training- responsible for coordinating courses in the Company and in the Marine training institute
Tracking expenses and invoices

Recruitment

Recruitment of foreign seamen- ongoing contact with recruiters abroad, including providing feedback & updates on their crew.
Managing Israeli and foreign cadets ‘s careers- recruitment, placement on company vessels, monitoring their progress in the training and providing feedback accordingly.
Ongoing communication with relevant roles in the company- Security department, operations, technical division, Zim Israel, port agents.)



Requirements:

Academic Education
Good negotiation skills
Good control of office tools
Previous experience in the HR field - advantage
High control of English language (Speaking, reading and writing)
Willingness to work long & unconventional hours- availability 24/7
