Senior Board Design Engineer

Uvision is looking for a Senior Board Design Engineer to take a leading role in the design and development of complex electronic boards for advanced defense systems. This position is a core technical role within the hardware group, with significant influence on architecture, design decisions, and product maturity.

Job description:

Lead the design and development of complex electronic boards, from system concept through production
Own board-level hardware architecture and drive critical design decisions
Execute full product lifecycle activities including schematics, layout guidance, bring-up, validation, and production support
Serve as a technical focal point within the hardware team and across interfaces
Work closely with software, mechanical, system, and integration teams to ensure optimal system performance
Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners
Perform deep hardware debugging, performance analysis, and root-cause investigations
Participate in design reviews, system validations, EMC testing, and field trials
Support transition to manufacturing including documentation, testing procedures, and yield improvement

Requirements:

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
7+ years of hands-on experience in board-level hardware design
Proven expertise in analog and digital design, simulations, component selection, and PCB layout guidance
Strong hands-on experience with board bring-up, lab testing, and system integration
Mandatory experience with ORCAD schematic and PCB design tools
Solid understanding of EMC, signal integrity, and power integrity considerations
Strong communication skills in Hebrew and English

Advantages

Experience with STM32 microcontroller family
Experience working under MIL-STD or other defense-related standards
Knowledge of FPGAs or other programmable devices
Technical leadership or mentoring experience
Ability to collaborate effectively with software teams and understand embedded code
Experience with Nvidia SOMs or high-performance embedded platforms
Customer-facing experience and willingness to travel abroad when required
