Summary:

Energean is seeking to employ an Offshore Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer for its operations in Israel. The role requires extensive oil and gas experience, with a strong background in Instrumentation & Control systems engineering and automation technologies, and a deep understanding of complex control strategies and instrumentation in the context of FPSO facilities. This is a hands-on position, ensuring 24/7 coverage and reliability of Siemens PCS7 control systems to support safe and continuous offshore production.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership and Strategy

Provide technical leadership in the development and execution of control system strategies for FPSO operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control system initiatives with project objectives and company standards.

Advanced Control Strategies

Design, implement, and maintain advanced control algorithms to optimize FPSO processes, including model predictive control (MPC) and adaptive control strategies.

Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance control system performance, safety, and reliability.

Integration and Interface Management

Oversee the integration of ICSS with electrical and mechanical subsystems, ensuring seamless communication and system integrity.

Manage vendor interfaces for control system hardware and software, with a focus on Siemens PCS7.

Technical Oversight

Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution of complex ICSS issues in real time.

Ensure 24/7 hands-on coverage to maintain production continuity and minimize downtime.

Risk Management and Safety

Lead and participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and system audits to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.

Ensure strict compliance with Energean standards, international regulations, and industry best practices.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including logic diagrams, configurations, and software versions.

Produce reports on ICSS performance, downtime events, and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or related discipline).

Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety) preferred.

Minimum 4+ years of experience in control system engineering within oil and gas or similar heavy industry.

Strong knowledge of Siemens PCS7 systems (essential).

Familiarity with DCS, PLC, SIS, and automation technologies.

Knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC 61850, ISA-95, API, IEC61511).

Project management and vendor coordination experience.

Fluent in English (Hebrew an advantage).
