Position Summary: The Assembly Technician I focuses on the precision assembly of advanced electro-mechanical systems, including robotics and defense applications. This individual works in a dynamic manufacturing and development environment, and is responsible for mechanical integration, electrical wiring, and building high-precision sub-assemblies. This is a hands-on role ideal for a highly detail-oriented technician with a proven background in aerospace, automotive, or robotics assembly.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform mechanical assembly and basic electrical wiring of electro-mechanical systems by following established work instructions and under the guidance of Engineering and Production teams.
• Read and use mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to complete assigned assembly tasks.
• Route, terminate, and crimp cables and wire harnesses according to provided specifications and guidance.
• Conduct visual inspections of parts and sub-assemblies to ensure they meet documented requirements, escalating issues as needed.
• Work with Engineering and Production team members to learn proper assembly techniques and report potential assembly or manufacturability concerns.
• Complete required build documentation and support traceability requirements as instructed.
• Willingness to support field operations and travel domestically and internationally.
• Follow all required ISO procedures, comply with EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) training requirements, comply with all SIG SAUER Inc. Range Rules, and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
• Maintain a flexible approach to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and targets.
• Execute miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.

Education/Experience & Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in the assembly of advanced electro-mechanical systems (e.g., robotics, automotive, aerospace, or defense sectors).
• Ability to read and understand complex mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
• Proficient with common hand tools, power tools, and electrical tooling, such as wire crimpers, strippers, soldering equipment, torque wrenches, calipers, and micrometers.
• Understanding of precise mechanical fits, tolerances, and cable routing techniques for moving or vibrating systems.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and technical accuracy.
• Effective communicator capable of working closely with cross-functional Engineering and Production teams.
• Adaptability and willingness to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• High-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must work as part of a team and be able to lead, plan, and execute multiple projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively.

Working Conditions:
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
• Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
• The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
• Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
• Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
