Position Overview:
Join the Forensic Research Group and play a key role in driving innovation at the heart of Cellebrite’s forensic research. The team specializes in locating, analyzing, and parsing forensic artifacts from file systems, application data, and other binary inputs. Research topics range from deleted artifacts recovery and reconstruction to data carving, reverse engineering of file/protocol formats, and decryption.
In this role, you will work on cutting-edge black-box reverse engineering, protocol analysis, and other advanced RE tools for both Android and iOS environments. A significant part of the position involves cybersecurity-oriented research using advanced reversing tools (e.g., FRIDA, AIDA, JADEX) and deep analysis of third-party applications downloaded from official app stores.
Responsibilities:
Be part of the Decoding Group, leading the analysis of native OS applications and binary file formats.
Research and analyze proprietary and open formats, including file systems, flash translation layers, databases, and OS services.
Conduct forensic research on artifacts in iOS, Android, and proprietary operating systems.
Write production-grade code in C# and Python to implement parsers and analysis tools.
Maintain and improve existing parsers and infrastructure tools while contributing to new research-driven solutions.
Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent degree — or relevant experience from an elite IDF tech unit.
2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or forensic research — hands-on experience with at least one reversing tool (FRIDA, AIDA, JADEX) is highly desirable.
Strong programming skills in C# and/or Python.
Experience or familiarity with third-party application research (investigating apps downloaded from official app stores).
A passion for solving complex puzzles and tackling technical challenges.
Advantages
Experience with flash memory and file systems.
Knowledge of internal database structures.
Familiarity with Sysinternals tools.
