Production Associate Group Leader

The Group Leader is responsible for leading a group of production line operators to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role combines hands-on operational work with team leadership, coordination, and basic problem-solving to meet production targets and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Lead and coordinate daily activities of a production line group.
Operate production equipment when required and ensure smooth line operation.
Ensure production targets (output, quality, efficiency) are achieved according to plan.
Monitor workflow and line performance, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
Team Leadership
Guide, motivate, and support production line operators during shifts.
Assign tasks and ensure proper manpower coverage.
Provide on-the-job training and coaching for new and existing operators.
Act as the first point of contact for routine employee questions or concerns.
Quality & Safety
Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Perform basic quality checks and ensure defects are identified and reported.
Enforce safety rules and safe work practices at all times.
Report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to supervision.
Continuous Improvement
Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Lean, waste reduction).
Suggest improvements to processes, layout, and work methods.
Participate in problem-solving related to downtime, scrap, and rework.
Reporting & Communication
Report production results, issues, and deviations to the Supervisor.
Record basic production data, downtime, and quality metrics.
Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification an advantage).
2–5 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
Previous experience leading or mentoring operators is preferred.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Skills & Competencies
Leadership and team-coordination skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Basic problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
Ability to lift materials within safety limits.
Comfortable working in a factory/production environment.
