Countries Performance Specialist

We are looking for a Countries Performance Specialist.

Main purpose of the role

Building, guiding, and monitoring the work plan of the countries to achieve their budget targets and goals.
Analyze, review and control country performance /activity.
Perform various analysis to monitor the performance of the countries, provide analysis-based input and improvement suggestions to RD to improve the performance of the Countries.
Support and coordinate processes between various functions and Countries. Solve bottlenecks and serve as an escalation focal point for Countries problems / issues.
Lead and follow up projects and processes for improving countries’ performance and KPIs.
Lead and support business development projects.
Follow up on agreements with partners, provide analytical input to improve ZIM profitability via better remuneration terms for 3rd party agents, assure all agreements are constantly updated with correct charges and demurrage terms, etc.

Major areas of responsibility

Country’s profitability improvement

Follow up closely on Countries overall performance.
Gain good understanding on the unique activities and circumstances of each country.
Collect performance information and analyze it.
Identify gaps between the product and performance, and give recommendations for improvement.
Serve as a problem solver and integrator between the Countries vs BUs and Functions.
Assist the countries to improve the communication and cooperation with other functions and BUs
Generate reports and build presentations.
Provide the RD valuable data-based inputs for performance and processes improvements.

Business development

Collect data from systems and external sources to identify new business opportunities and trends and provide recommendations related to business development.
Have good understanding on countries’ economies, political situation and market trends.
Monitor projects and initiatives and provide alerts.
Lead and/or closely monitor business development projects as per needs.

Control

Serve as RD’s “right hand”, lead specific projects as per needs, proactively follow up on upcoming business trends / opportunities / risks and provide ideas and input to the RD.
Direct involvement in budget preparation and monitoring monthly performance.
Periodical review of the P&L of the agencies, provide recommendation on maximizing profit, increase efficiency, reduce expenses and overall contribution to ZIM. Prepare economic calculation to support managerial decisions on organization, targets, and development.
Monitor Countries KPI’s.

3rd party agencies

Periodically review all 3rd party agreements and conduct updates as per needs.
Collect data on potential agents.
Evaluate various commission structures.
Prepare commission simulations for negotiation

Requirements:

Academic education in Industrial Engineering / Economics / CPA or relevant. Preference to Master degree.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial / project management / analytical/ economic position.
High level of managerial and analytical skills.
Full proficiency in office tools (Excel and PowerPoint are a must); preference to well acquaintance with all ZIM systems including agency systems / models and Tableau (all aspects)..
Fluency in English language (Speaking, reading and writing). Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
