Job Description:

Reports to: Engineering Executive

About the Role:

We’re looking for a sharp, curious, and deeply experienced Senior Architect to help shape the future of HPE’s Security Service Edge (SSE) platform — a fast-moving, cloud-native, global-scale security product.

In this role, you’ll have a critical influence on product direction, system design, and technological choices. You’ll work closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to architect secure, scalable, high-performance systems running across public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). This is a hands-on strategic position, not an ivory tower one — your fingerprints will be on the code, the design, and the outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Define and drive technical strategy and architecture across multiple domains: cloud infrastructure, microservices, network security, and data-intensive systems.

Partner with engineering directors and team leads to scale architectural thinking across groups.

Lead architecture design reviews and influence decisions in multi-cloud environments with high scale and availability needs.

Translate complex business and product needs into robust, modern architecture plans.

Help identify and evaluate new technologies and design patterns aligned with our evolving needs.

Set security and performance best practices across the stack – from edge to core.

Mentor senior engineers and rising architects across the organization.

Represent the architecture function in executive discussions, technical forums, and peer reviews.

You Are:

An experienced technical leader (15+ years) with a deep software engineering background — hands-on experience in Go, Python, Java, or similar.

Proven expertise in cloud-native architectures (preferably across AWS/GCP), microservices, distributed systems, and SaaS platforms.

Strong knowledge in networking and security, with practical understanding of SASE/SSE principles and secure-by-design architecture.

Comfortable with DevOps, observability, and CI/CD best practices in live production environments.

Someone who thrives in a fast-moving, agile environment and knows how to balance long-term vision with pragmatic tradeoffs.

A natural mentor, communicator, and influencer — you enjoy bringing people together around high-impact architecture and technology.

Bonus: Experience in high-scale data systems, real-time pipelines, or zero-trust architectures.
