Senior FinOps Specialist

The FinOps Manager leads cloud financial operations, driving cost optimization and governance across multi-cloud environments. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to align cloud spend with business objectives while fostering a culture of cost accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the organization’s FinOps strategy in collaboration with engineering, finance, and product leadership.
Champion cost-awareness across teams and influence architectural decisions for efficiency.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve cloud economics and operational excellence.

Team Management
Provide guidance on best practices for cloud cost optimization and financial governance.
Foster a collaborative environment between finance and technical teams.

Cloud Cost Management
Monitor and analyze cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes clusters.
Implement cost allocation strategies and drive adoption of Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot usage.
Identify optimization opportunities and present actionable recommendations to leadership.
Be able to challenge current and future technological and architecture decisions in favor on cost optimization.

Reporting & Forecasting
Deliver executive-level dashboards and reports on cloud spend, trends, and forecasts.
Communicate insights to senior stakeholders and influence budget planning.

Automation & Tooling
Oversee automation of cost reporting and anomaly detection.
Evaluate and implement FinOps tools and integrations for real-time visibility.

Governance & Compliance
Establish policies across R&D for cloud usage and financial accountability.
Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
Proven leadership experience managing teams or cross-functional projects.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes) and billing models.
Expertise in cost optimization techniques and FinOps principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence at all levels and drive organizational change.

Preferred Qualifications
FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
Experience in large-scale cloud environments and enterprise governance.
Background in DevOps or SRE with cost optimization responsibilities.
