Summary of role and team

We are seeking a motivated Junior Scientist (biologist-bioinformatician) to join our Cell Line and Media Innovation team on a temporary basis as a replacement for maternity leave.

Our team is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to enhance the performance of proprietary cell lines, with a particular focus on media development.

In this role, you will take part in 80% wet-lab and 20% bioinformatics work.

Key Responsibilities

Cell culture lab work: seeding and passaging cell cultures, cell counting.
Analysis of bulk RNA-seq.
Analysis of biological data to produce meaningful and relevant biological insights.
Preparation of culture media for experiments.
Collaborate with scientists from other divisions within the company.
Analyze, document, and present results according to project goals and timelines.

The Ideal Candidate

Must-Have

MSc in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/Systems Biology.
Hands-on research experience in analyzing NGS data (bulk RNA-seq and/or whole genome DNA sequencing).
Programming skills in python and/or R studio and/or Matlab.
Hands-on experience with tissue/cell culture and aseptic techniques.
Ability to handle repetitive and routine tasks with consistency.
Detail-oriented and highly organized professional with strong record-keeping, consistency, and communication skills.
Team-oriented, adaptable, and independent thinker who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

Experience working with biological models that combine experimental data and machine learning.
Experience with molecular biology methods (RT-qPCR, DNA and/or RNA extraction).
