Technical Art Director

We're a small, AI-forward game studio developing Moonsters, an ambitious mobile game with extensive LiveOps, monetization features, and content updates. We believe in leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to achieve AAA production quality with a lean, highly skilled team.

We're seeking a hands-on Technical Art Director who will be instrumental in building and managing AI-powered art pipelines for massive content production. You'll lead a small art team while directly contributing to asset creation and pipeline development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the visual direction of our game while pioneering new AI-driven production methodologies.

Responsibilities

Pipeline & Production

Design and implement scalable AI-powered art production pipelines for generating hundreds of game assets efficiently
Establish comprehensive art style guides and implement technical systems to maintain visual consistency

Leadership & Quality

Maintain consistent visual quality across all game content, LiveOps events, and monetization features
Lead and mentor 1-2 artists while remaining deeply involved in production
Hands-on creation and refinement of game assets using both AI and traditional techniques

Collaboration

Collaborate with game design and engineering to ensure seamless asset integration
Document technical workflows for team scalability

Experience Requirements

5+ years in game development
2+ years in a lead/director role
Shipped titles in mobile gaming
Built and deployed AI pipelines currently in production

Portfolio Must Demonstrate

High-quality game art AND technical pipeline work
Experience shipping mobile games
Ability to maintain visual consistency across hundreds of AI-generated assets
Understanding of mobile game monetization art requirements

Requirements:

Core Technical Skills

Unity Integration: Working knowledge of Unity's UI systems, particle effects, and animation implementation
2D Art Production: Expert-level skills in concept illustration and UI/UX design using Photoshop, Midjourney, and ComfyUI
Motion Design: Advanced proficiency in After Effects for animations and visual effects
Experience with Figma or similar collaborative design tools

AI Pipeline Requirements

Generative AI Mastery: Production experience with Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL-E
Technical Workflows: ComfyUI or Automatic1111 workflow creation
Prompt Engineering: Proven strategies for consistent, production-ready outputs
Integration: Experience bringing AI-generated assets into game production pipelines
