Job Summary

You will be located in our European Distribution Center (EDC) in Genk.

As part of the Terumo EDC Supply Chain team, the main responsibility of the Warehouse Operations Specialist is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our warehouse activities. This individual will have diverse responsibilities ranging from work organization, training and compliance, health and safety, security, communication, to project involvement. The goal is to optimize warehouse operations, achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain compliance, and enhance the work environment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work Organization

Contribute to achieving warehouse KPIs by proposing and implementing action plans.
Manage the onboarding process, ensuring new employees are effectively introduced and provided with necessary resources and training.
Optimize onboarding processes including hardware distribution, account setup, authorization, badge distribution, document handling, and initial training.

2. Training, Competency & Compliance

Oversee the maintenance of warehouse work instructions, ensuring training and competence management are optimized.
Standardize procedures and apply best practices to meet compliance, quality, and productivity goals.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for keeping instructions up-to-date and audit ready. Lead training and competency efforts during audits.
Process and evaluate revisions of SOPs, role assessments, and other documents critically, implementing changes via SmartSolve.

3. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)

Lead work groups to enhance performance related to safety, cleanliness, and health in the work environment.
Implement and monitor quality procedures and safety standards.
Identify, report, and address safety issues.
Apply and maintain a clean, safe work environment through 6S methodology.
Stay informed on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and wellbeing culture.
Play a significant role in internal and external audits, cooperating with key departments.
Manage training and follow-up for rolling equipment, EHBO and internal firefighters and maintain emergency procedures in collaboration with EHS.

4. Security

Ensure compliance with Known Consignor status and maintain a secure process for air cargo security in line with national legal requirements.
Advocate for the organization's safety regulations during quality controls and continuously improve known consignor processes.

5. Communication

Communicate effectively to foster a trustworthy and motivational environment for the team.
Collaborate with other departments to improve work organization and build strong inter-departmental partnerships.

6. Projects

Participate in continuous improvement projects within warehouse operations, providing expertise and collaborating with project and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams.

Profile Description
Proven experience in warehouse operations or a related field.
Knowledge of EHS standards, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as 6S.
Competency in training, onboarding, and compliance management tools and practices.
Good knowledge of Dutch and English
