The Sr. Technical Writer is a vital position at ACS Motion Control, responsible for creating and managing clear and concise documentation which enables our global base of customers and partners, who are primarily electrical/mechanical/system/software engineers, to use our high-performance motion control products in high-tech manufacturing equipment. Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Create and manage a portfolio of high-performance motion control product software documentation (controller level and host/PC level) – primarily software/user guides and in-app help/content

· Update and maintain website product software support content and materials

· Collaborate closely with subject matter experts in R&D, and Applications departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of technical content

· Work with product marketing/product management on look and feel of material

· Assist in development and maintenance of documentation templates, style guides and best practices

· Guide other technical writers on best practices

Requirements:

· 4+ years’ experience creating software / user documentation in an industrial automation or motion control company - Required

· Degree in technical writing or similar - Advantage

· Professional basic knowledge in at least one high-level computer programming language e.g. C, C++, C#, Python

· Basic understanding of electronics concepts

· Proficiency with MS 365 / Office

· Capable to edit/create visual aids and diagrams with tools like Adobe PS/IL - Required

· Experience with MadCap Flare or similar technical writing software - Required

· Knowledge in developing on-line HTML help files - Desired

· Experience with agile software development environments, like Azure DevOps or Jira - Desired

· Strong organizational, communication, time/task management, and teamwork (local and remote) skills

Working Conditions

· Office-based

o Some flexibility to work-from-home

o Up to 10% travel (domestic and international) to ACS, customer, and partner offices, including ACS HQ in Israel

· Home office

o Up to 20% travel (domestic and international) to ACS, customer, and partner offices, including ACS HQ in Israel

o More frequent travel during the first few months training and onboarding period
