Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology “BNSM” division is the leader in X-ray metrology / inspection and other tools for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. We have an immediate opening in Israel, for an Application Scientist, in our applications department.

Responsibilities:
To Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, of company products.
To Assist the Sales staff in assessing potential application of company products, to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
To build applications based on customer requirements with the goal to demonstrate feasibility, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
To provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
To Support of the Core Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing teams with qualification of new technologies, algorithms, methodologies, software and hardware features
To Ensure that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications including source inspection of the tools prior to shipment and following installation (site acceptance).
To provide follow-up support to company Sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
To work with the customers starting from the pre-sale and through tools delivery and acceptance
Qualifications:
Good knowledge of Materials Engineering basics (thermodynamics, kinetics, diffusion, basic crystallography etc). Knowledge of the processes in microelectronics - bonus
Familiarity with characterization techniques (preferably hands-on work and results analysis). Experience in matching and mis-match analysis of the different techniques - bonus. Experience in XRF and classical XRR - bonus, XRD or HR XRD - bonus, SAXS, Ellipsometry, or OCD - bonus
Good knowledge in statistics and data analysis. Experience in metrology - bonus
Fluent English and experience in technical writing
Good communication skills, good reporting skills
Ability to work and be creative under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Self-organized and self-disciplined. Able to work alone and within the team. Experience working in an industry environment - bonus. Experience with problem troubleshooting in industry - bonus
Serviceability, ability to manage customer expectations. Experience in working with customers from different cultures and backgrounds - bonus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Degree in Materials engineering, Chemical engineering, chemistry or physics (B.Sc. minimum, M.Sc./Ph. D is preferred).
