Junior Backend Developer

Description

We are looking for a proactive Junior Software Developer to join our team and contribute to building a cutting-edge generative AI-based platform. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a developer with hands-on backend experience, interested in growing their expertise in AI and cloud-native development, to collaborate on an innovative project with a dynamic and experienced team.

We are GigaSpaces, a global pioneer of in-memory computing, building one of the market’s first Digital Integration Hubs (DIH) —an out-of-the-box solution that simplifies digital transformation, and a pioneering eRAG (Enterprise Retrieval Augmented Generation), a technology that aims to enable LLMs to query structured enterprise data with human-level accuracy.

This position is full time, hybrid and located in our main office in Herzliya.

Responsibilities:

You'll play a key role in building an exciting Generative AI innovation project.

Play a key role in developing and implementing features for an ongoing generative AI project.
Collaborate in brainstorming sessions, bringing innovative ideas to enhance AI capabilities and user experience.
Develop, test, and maintain Python-based microservices for the AI SQL platform in cloud production environments.
Implement server-client architectures, working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Support integration with Grafana for monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Participate in code reviews, follow best practices for code quality, documentation, and security, and maintain a strong sense of ownership for assigned tasks.
Work with senior team members on deploying and scaling infrastructure in Kubernetes (K8s, OpenShift, EKS) on AWS and Azure.
Requirements

Must-Have Requirements:

2+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python.
Experience working in cloud production environments (AWS, Azure).
Solid understanding of Kubernetes environments (K8s, OpenShift, EKS) and microservices architecture.
Proficient in SQL and NoSQL databases, with knowledge of server-client architectures.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Strong initiative with a sense of ownership to fix issues and optimize systems across the platform.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Exposure to generative AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases (e.g., Milvus, Pinecone).
Familiarity with LLMs, embedding models, and popular LLM hubs like Hugging Face.
Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Docker, K8s and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, SW Engineering or equivalent - Advantage
